The hospitality overall was superb. Particularly enjoyed the special breakfasts with pastry, fresh juices, fruits and expresso. To meet and interact with lovely owners personally was a wonderful blessing. When help was needed with finding transportation, we had a perfect solution in minutes!

My room was large with lots of outlets. It had a Jacuzzi tub which was wonderful. The first time I had trouble turning it on and a lovely woman from the front desk came to my room to help. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of food and a sweet server who made my espresso a doppio . The recommended parking lot was a two minute walk to the hotel. And having a lift was a treat. I would definitely stay there again.

Location is beautiful and the restaurant in the village was excellent. We travel a lot but were just bowled over when we arrived and we didnt want to leave. Staff really welcoming - breakfast fantastic. Apartment was really well equipped inc the fridge.

This was a very comfortable room in a good location, an easy walk up to the old town. We ended up having to drive through the old town as the road around was closed for repairs (not fun, but worth it when we drove into the villa carpark). A gorgeous villa, set over 3 levels, we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves as there was no one else staying there for those nights. Very comfortable room, well equipped and functional bathroom. Shutters and curtains blocked out any light which made for a great sleep. No kettle in the room but you can make tea or coffee downstairs in the kitchen at any time.
Set in Saline di Volterra, Albergo Africa offers free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and classic-style rooms with air conditioning. Rooms at the Africa hotel have a flat-screen TV and tiled floors.

Eine wundervolle Unterkunft. Es war unbeschreiblich schön!
Volterra is a little jewel on top of. steep hill. The town hosts remnants from Etruscan ages, Roman ages, and the Middle Ages, all in a walking distance.
The surrounding areas are hilly and very green.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!
The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

not the most interesting of fortified hill top towns, but nice enough. Not an awful lot too see apart from the stunning views and the inevitable torture museum which we came across in three other locations

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

The owners and staff are very friendly. The hotel is located in the center of Volterra, so it is not accessible by car. Parking garage (P1) is very close, and access to the hotel is not difficult. The hotel is arranged in a medieval building, and there are many stairs leading to the upper floors. There is a terrace above the hotel where guests can peacefully enjoy coffee and the view of Volterra's rooftops. The owner is delighted to offer advice about where to purchase excellent local wine at reasonable prices.
Newly established house with comfortable appartments furnished with soul and taste. Standing on the hill, it offers magnificant scenic views over Tuscany landscape.
15 minutes by car brings you to the heart of magic Volterra city.
Excellent local breakfast is served in the morning at the terrace.
Last but not least, the house is run by very pleasant and friendly couple who have renovated the property almost by themselves.
The final impression includes Angelo, huge friendly dog who gave us warm welcome.
We loved staying here and we wish would have stayed longer! From the villa it’s a super quick walk into the heart of Volterra, which is just an adorable and fun little town. The hosts were very gracious and helpful. There were great amenities (coffee, wifi, tv, AC) and even an amazing outdoor terrace! We loved our time here. Would 100% stay here again if we return to Volterra.
Excellent value, size of apartment (3 floors), and location right in volterra on quiet street. Tons of space, well appointed, great bathrooms and shower, cute kitchen, would make a super base to explore tuscany from for multiple days. Antonio was efficient and welcoming to the city. Was short walk to parking outside walls, and all the restaurant and activity in volterra.
The best place to rest in a tactic position at 10 minutes to Volterra and 20 minutes to San Gimignano.
The nature of those hills is so good, you get up with an amazing view and sounds of sweet birds everywhere.
They treated us like home, that couple is the best!
You have to go there, you will never regret that!
I will surely come back there!
The location was stunning with beautiful views and walking distance to the centre of Volterra. Claudio the host was very knowledgeable about the area and was very helpful during our visit. Will certainly be back to Podere Casallorto in the near future. I would highly recommend this property to those wanting to experience the beauty of Tuscany.
This was the perfect place for our experience in Volterra. In the middle of everything with easy access to all of the main core and the many attractions and experiences. The place was great, with a fantastic terrace to relax on and listen to the vibes and sounds of a very exciting town. This was a fantastic experience
Location relative to Volterra Centro Storico. Great host, accommodations had enclosed area for car, private terrace and entrance, beautiful view of the pool and surrounding area and this unit had a washing machine which was perfect. Also, great little places nearby to grab a bite.
A great place to stay with a very friendly host! Right by the Volterra, but still slightly away so you can enjoy some time away from the tourist attraction. A shared kitchen and living room are nice, so you can make your own breakfast in lovely surroundings.
perfect location on the main road in Volterra. the hotel staff was incredibly kind and helpful. the property was very clean and comfortable with spacious rooms which isn’t always typical in Italy. the continental breakfast was a nice way to start the day.
Very cosy atmosphere with beautiful view.. The owner Cassandra was very kind and helpful. Perfect place if you want to see Toscana, the famous cities are around 1 our from the Villa, like Florence, Pisa, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Cinque Terre…
Nice place in hearth of Tuscany. Nice view to the landscape and Volterra. Accommodation is comfortable, clean and well equiped. Swimming pool with salt water is good for spending free time and relaxing. Host is very kind and everytime helps.
The location on a hilltop looking over the Tuscany landscape was stunning. Really enjoyed our 4 nights there. Used it as a base to visit Volterra and San Gimignano. Claudia is a wonderful host! They make nice wines too.
Great hotel with fantastic service, so helpful and informative about things to do and places to visit. Also maybe the best breakfast ever - handmade cakes, fresh omelette, local cheese & salami. Could not recommend any more
This is an excellent hotel in the middle of Volterra. Our suit was fabulous, and we were simply impressed on arrival. The staff were very helpful and happy to help.
Thanks for making our stay fabulous Hotel La Locanda.
Even though we had booked and paid for 2 nights, we only stayed for 1 night as the temperatures in Italy were very high and we decided to drive home to The Netherlands asap.
The location of the hotel inside the very center of Volterra, inside the fortress, is simply great. The staff was very friendly and nice, and the breakfast was good.
